Monkey felt a kick!
By monkey
For quite a while now, Bunny has been feeling kicks. They started before twenty weeks, which is apparently a little earlier than most folks tend to feel them, and they come pretty regularly when she’s sitting at work or when she drinks cold water. This morning, though, while she was sitting on the couch, she actually saw the kicks, and she called me over to watch.
I picked up her phone, and she drank a little more cold water. Just a few
moments later, I saw a little dimple on her belly and caught it on her phone
for posterity. There it was: the first expression I’ve seen from Peanut.
Not sure if it was “thanks for the water” or “wow that’s cold”, but either
way, I saw it. I then placed my hand on Bunny’s belly, and was fortunate
enough to feel Peanut kick for my first time. It felt for all the world
like a soft mallet striking a kettle drum head.
It has been wonderful watching Bunny’s figure change over the past few months, but there’s something about seeing – and feeling – that makes Peanut’s arrival that much more real. I can’t wait for February to get here!
